Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka will on Friday hold a meeting at his expansive Yatta farm.
The Wiper boss has invited key opinion leaders from across the three Ukambani counties for the major gathering with top Azimio guns including Raila Odinga expected to attend.
This will be Kalonzo's first ever big political gathering convened since the last general election as he plots a possible second stab at the country's top job.
All Ukambani MPs, and MCAs from Kitui, Machakos and Makueni will converge at the farm amid pressure on Kalonzo to declare his 2027 Presidential bid and seek support from Raila.
Kalonzo has always summoned key Ukambani leaders to his Yatta home when making landmark political declarations, including his decision to work with Azimio.
Some Ukambani leaders have been urging Kalonzo to run for the country's top seat in 2027, saying he has sacrificed a lot for others.
Kalonzo's first stab at the presidency was in 2007 when he ran on the ODM-K ticket but came third behind then-President Mwai Kibaki and Raila.
In 2013, Kalonzo brokered a political deal with Raila under the Cord Coalition in which he deputised the then-opposition leader.
In 2017, Kalonzo was Raila's running mate for the second time running under the Nasa coalition but lost to President Uhuru like in 2013.
In the 2022 polls, Kalonzo was earmarked to be the Chief Cabinet Secretary in the Azimio coalition lineup but lost to President William Ruto.
