The Fifa Technical Leadership Diploma was unveiled in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, by Fifa, aiming to standardise the technical work of its member associations, Fifa announced Tuesday.

“Currently, there’s no singular award or accreditation that qualifies an individual as a technical leader in a member association,” Fifa Head of Technical Leadership Jamie Houchen was quoted as saying in a press release.

“In the hiring process for a technical leader, there lacks a quality benchmark. We anticipate the Fifa Technical Leadership Diploma will emerge as the globally recognised qualification for technical leaders, thereby fostering the highest quality of graduates to spearhead football worldwide,” he added.
