Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji.

President William Ruto on Tuesday nominated the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji as the new Director General of the National Intelligence Service.

Before being the DPP, Haji  served as Deputy Director of the Counter Organised Crime Unit within the National Intelligence Service.

He returns to the National Intelligence Service after 6 years of serving as the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Haji's nomination comes ahead of the retirement of Major-General (Rtd) Philip Wachira Kameru, the outgoing Director-General.

General Kameru was appointed in September 2014 after an illustrious military career.

He had risen through the ranks to the position of Director of Military Intelligence in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

In that position, he provided outstanding leadership that earned him international accolades.
