Nabii Benjamin, wife of Eliud Wekesa alias Yesu wa Tongaren has expressed her happiness after meeting Roots Party Leader George Wajackoyah.
Speaking while addressing the media moments after Wekesa was freed over lack of evidence, Nabii said it is a miracle to have met Wajackoyah.
"Mimi huona Wajackoyah kwenye televisheni tu, ni miujiza ya Mungu kwamba nimepata nafasi ya kumuona, kweli Mungu ni wa maajabu," she said.
(I only see Wajackoyah on TV, it is a miracle to finally meet him, God is full of miracles)
She added that God has been faithful to them and showed his hand through Wajackoyah who defended Wekesa in Court.
"Yaani Wajackoyah ananishika mkono akinipeleka nyumbani, Mungu anatumia watu wake kufanya miujiza, anapitia katika chombo," Nabii said.
(I can't believe this is Wajackoyah walking me home, God uses His people to perform miracles)
Wajackoyah represented Yesu wa Tongaren in court on Tuesday, leading to his release.
The preacher was accused of unlawful operation of an unregistered society, radicalisation, and money laundering.
Wekesa had said he will not need lawyers if arraigned over his church activities.
He said he did not break any law and he shall be set free once the interrogation is done.
“If I am arraigned, I don’t plan to have any physical lawyer to defend me but instead my lawyers will be the sun and the moon since before God I have done nothing wrong,” he said.
