Mugithi singer Lawrence Njuguna alias DJ Faxto now wants the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji to reveal the details of Geoffrey Mwathi's death probe.

In a statement dated May 12, 2023 through his lawyer Duncan Okatch, DJ Faxto said he was at the center of investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations over Mwathi's death and deserves to know the truth.

"We thus write this letter to have it on record that our client's wish and request has always been to have an open, proper, thorough, fair and independent investigation and interrogation of this matter and for the consequential finding to be made public at the earliest," the statement read.

"Our client has as a matter of fact been greatly negatively affected by the manufactured, widely promulgated and circulated accusations, innuendos and allegations of how the deceased met his death with the same prematurely and without any basis whatsoever alleging criminal culpability to our client."

DJ Faxto said the situation affected him and his music, and entertainment hustle.

He complained that he gets most affected when there are delays in decision-making.

He said the truth is the only aspect that can set him free as he is a captive of the said assumptions and allegations.

"We believe that the panacea to the anxiety that has built up in the minds of the family, friends and relatives of the late Mwathi on one part, and also the suffering and tribulations by our client on the other part, is the expedient discharge of your mandate and the communication of the same," the statement read.

The Mugithi singer said since the matter was of public interest, he expected the DPP to act expeditiously.

This comes days after the mother of Mwathi faulted the DCI  for failing to deliver justice following her son's death.

Anne Mwathi insists that her son was murdered and expressed disappointment that his death happened under the watch of someone he trusted.

She blamed the police for not being too keen on their investigations and making arrests.

"When he was murdered they did not mark the house as a crime scene to prevent people from entering. They determined that my son committed suicide. Although I know my child did not kill himself," she said.
