Kajiado North MP Onesmus Ngogoyo on Friday said he has secured security lights following an increase in cases of insecurity being reported along Ngong-Oloolua road.
He said the cases were becoming too many and something had to be done.
“After several security concerns from residents, my office lobbied for security lights from the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development,” Ngogoyo said.
The MP said residents living along the Ukombozi area along the Ngong-Oloolua road have reported many cases of mugging due to darkness in the stretch.
“Today, a team led by Madam Ruth Thairu, Deputy Director in the Housing Department toured the Ukombozi area where they intend to put up a security light mast to serve the residents,” the MP said.
Ngogoyo said the move will greatly improve the security of the area, adding that his commitment to light up different wards in the constituency is still on course.
Ngogoyo also said development is underway in Karen West of the Karugu area where he commissioned the graveling and the murraming of the Kianugu-Oloolua Road.
“This road plays a vital role in connecting to the Standard Gauge Railway, and the rehabilitation will significantly improve accessibility to the railway station and the surrounding neighbourhood,” the MP said.
He said the road will be rehabilitated and routinely maintained by Kenya Rural Road Authority (KERRA) as he sought a permanent solution.
