Lawyer and former advisor to Raila Odinga, Miguna Miguna now wants legislators allied to Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition to resign.

Miguna who was reacting to the demands by both sides of the bipartisan talks said if the audit of the August 2022 elections is what they want, then they should all step down from their positions.

He said if what they had demanded was the basis of the bipartisan talks, then the process is a waste of resources.

"If this moving target is the core agenda of the “talks,” then it’s a complete waste of time and public resources - and it should be disbanded. If the Kuzimia (Azimio) group wants to “audit the 2022 general election,” then it’s members (all elected MPs in that election) should resign," Miguna said.

On Wednesday, the bipartisan team started the talks after Raila had given an ultimatum that would see the opposition take to the streets if they failed to commence.

During the talks held at the Bomas of Kenya, the team agreed on core issues for discussion during the talks.

Co-chairperson of the Bipartisan Dialogue Committee Otiende Amollo said both parties tabled their issues.

"We refined and settled the respective issues and we had occasioned to have them tabled. On the side Azimio and Kenya Kwanza have both tabled their issues," he said.

Some of the issues agreed upon include; electoral reforms, an audit of the 2022 election, reconstituting the electoral commission, boundaries delimitation and other constitutional issues that need to be relooked at. This was for the Azimio side.

The Kenya Kwanza team also agreed on the reconstitution of the IEBC, electoral reforms and creation of the office of the Opposition leader among others.
