Several families were left stranded and others counted losses following flash floods in Nyando.
This is after river Nyando broke its banks around 4 am on Sunday.
Several homes along the river and shops in Ahero market were submerged.
The floods followed a heavy downpour in the area and also left several acres of farm crops swept away.
Some residents are currently trying to salvage their property as others are being evacuated.
In a video, the locals called upon both the national and county government to come to their aid.
They said Governor Anyang'Nyongó- led administration should visit the affected areas.
"Our flour is gone, the dogs are gone, have been hungry all night, and we are not looking for our kids. President William Ruto, please come to our aid," a local in a Ahero pleaded.
Currently, the county government is partnering with the Red Cross to evacuate some of the families to safer grounds.
