The Media Council has warned against falling prey to a fake poster on Industrial Placement Programme intake.

In a statement, the council said the poster doing rounds on social media calling for applications is fake.

MCK said they do not charge any fee for their Industrial Placement Programme as claimed in the fake advert.

"Please ignore the poster purporting to announce intake into our Industrial Placement Programme. Further, Media Council does not ask for any payments for admission into the programme," the statement read.

MCK said they will announce the next intake via their communication platforms in the usual manner.

The council signed an agreement with media houses towards the implementation of an industrial placement programme for journalism and media students.
