Cabinet Secretary for Defence, Aden Duale is mourning the death of Garissa tycoon Mahat Kuno Roble (MK).
Making the announcement on Saturday, Duale said that MK died in Medina Holy city, Saudi Arabia after a short illness.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un”. “Verily we belong to Allah, and truly to Him shall we return” following the death of our father, elder and Businessman Mzee Mahat Kuno Roble (MK)," he said.
“Oh Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those present and those absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah, whom among us You keep alive, then let such a life be upon Islam, and whom among us You take unto Yourself, then let such a death be upon faith," Duale added.
The businessman owned several properties in Garissa and other parts of the country.
in 2018, his children had opened a vicious legal battle for control of his business empire, offering insights into the secrets of the multibillion-shilling operation.
Some of the tycoon’s children teamed up to sue their brother, Mohamed Mahat Kuno, over his control of the landmark hotel, Almond Resort, a Garissa-based hotel regarded as a flagship of the business empire.
