It was tears of joy for City DJ Felix Orinda alias DJ Evolve after he got his voice back.

Speaking to the Star on Thursday, Dj Evolve said that after a successful eight-hour surgery last month, he can now speak well. The surgery was among many others conducted after he was shot at a City club.

“I never thought this day would come but I have finally regained my voice back. I have truly seen God's works,” he said.

Evolve said he underwent the surgery on March 6, 2023, but was not able to speak properly until this week.

He told the Star that he had put his faith in God for the surgery to be successful so that he can get his life back.

"I prayed before going for the surgery and asked God to stand by my side all through the surgery. And Indeed, he did exactly that," Evolve added.

He is, however, still confined to a wheelchair and is practising sitting.

A bullet to his neck on January 17, 2020, changed Evolve's life.

It was a normal day, a fun night and DJ Evolve was doing what he loved, to entertain people.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino had been charged with shooting the City DJ in the neck at B-Club entertainment spot in Kilimani,  but later the murder charges were dropped.

After being bedridden, discharged from the hospital and starting a recovery journey, life hit Dj Evolve further on September 23, 2021, when his mother passed away.
