Police in Kisumu have launched a manhunt for two people suspected to be behind the killing of an elderly woman in Kisumu.

The woman of Asian origin was their employer in Kisumu's Milimani area.

Jactone Mango, Deputy OCPD Kisumu Central, said they received a call Tuesday around 10.30 am from the Manager of JRS company concerning the lady.

Mangos said they immediately rushed to the scene and confirmed the incident.

He said the women's hands and legs were tied up.

Mango noted that an employee of JRS who was providing security for the woman was sent to town to buy some groceries for the household.

"When he came back, he found the gate had been locked from outside, he then jumped over the fence because nobody was responding and went to the house and found everything in a disarray."

The Deputy OCPD noted that the security officer suspected that there was something amiss and went to the bedroom where he found the lady tied both on the legs and hands and was not responding.

"He confirmed that the lady was dead and raised an alarm to his manager who later called the police."

Mango added that they are already tracing known two employees of the house.

He said one of the employees, a man, has been working in the house for the last eight years and a woman, employed four months ago.

"We are sure that they are the main culprits in this incident and we are pursuing them," added Mango.

He said they have leads and will soon arrest them.

The Deputy OCPD at the same time took the opportunity to urge employees that in case they have any issue with their employer, they should not resort to murder.

He said it was very unfortunate for the old lady to lose her life in such a manner.

The body has been moved to the morgue.
