Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has appointed media personality Shaffie Weru to head the county events team for a period of five years.

While speaking to The Star on phone, Sakaja said Shaffie collected his letter of appointment today and will be in charge of overseeing all outdoor and indoor events in the county.

"He will exclusively execute all indoor and outdoor events headlined by Nairobi County Government."

Before his official appointment, Shaffie had been organising events graced by the governor, the major one being Sakaja's swearing-in event in August 2021.

He also took part in executing the Nairobi festival that was held in December.
