IEBC Selection Panel has received 920 applications for the positions of chairperson and six commissioners.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday evening, the Panel Chairman Nelson Makanda said that out of the applications, 25 submitted applications for chairman while the remaining 895 applied for six commissioners' jobs.
The Panel chairman said they will not shy off to do a re-advert should the 920 fail to inspire the confidence of the panel.
He however did not disclose the identities of the applicants saying it is a work in progress.
"Should we find the 920 are not suitable, we shall not be shy of doing a re-advert," Makanda said.
The deadline for the applications was Tuesday at 5 pm.
The Chairman also noted that the numbers could slightly come down due to multiple applications that will be addressed when they finally sieve the applications.
