Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i called him during the 'raid saga' last month.
The DP claimed that the former CS called him after he was ignored by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition Chief Raila Odinga.
"Recently Matiang'i brought trouble to himself by claiming a false raid. When he called the handshake guys, they ignore him. I’m the one that Matiang’i called despite him having disturbed me earlier but I picked up his call and I told him he was used," Gachagua said on Friday.
The DP further alleged that Matiangi was used by the handshake brothers to hurt and divide people.
"When Matiang’i was in trouble, they neglected him," he noted.
However, the DP further said that President William Ruto has demonstrated respect and goodwill towards the Gusii community.
He also note that the President wanted the Community to assist him in delivering his manifesto to Kenyans.
Gachagua pledged not to misuse or oppress the Gusii leaders but to work with them towards building the nation.
