Micro Small and Medium Enterprises PS Susan Mang’eni has said the government will soon digitize the Uwezo funds allocation.
Speaking in Migwani market in Mwingi West, while she spearheaded the distribution of Uwezo funds cheques worth Sh3.88 million, Mang’eni lauded the women, youths, and PWDs for paying the loan on time.
"The government will soon review the amount given to the groups for an additional amount," the PS said.
She said soon the government will digitize the whole process for convenience.
"You will soon be filling these forms online and money send to your phones after a few days," she said.
Kitui Woman Rep Irene Kasalu who had attended the function asked the government to increase the amount allocated to the groups because they have been paying on time.
Kasalu said Kitui self-help groups were rated 4th nationwide for paying the loans on time.
She called on the government to distribute food to school-going children to save them from hunger and boost education as well.
Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna pleaded with President Ruto to ensure the completion of the Kitui-Kibwezi road that has since stalled at Kwa Siku market, a few kilometres from Mbondoni market, where it joins the Thika-Garissa highway.
Nguna said completion of the road would link transport from the Northern corridor to the Coastal region and business in the three Ukambani counties would be boosted.
