Isiolo County Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo has called on leaders from neighbouring counties to refrain from interfering with the county's affairs.
Guyo said that outsiders should avoid getting involved in Isiolo politics which are aimed at destructing the service delivery of its leadership.
"Leaders from our neighbouring counties should focus on matters within their own jurisdiction and stop meddling in the affairs of Isiolo County," he said.
The Governor was speaking during the launch of the county bursary scheme, where he emphasized the need for each county to prioritize the well-being of its people.
In addition to addressing local concerns, the Governor also highlighted the issue of the over 10,000 internal refugees hosted in Isiolo County, calling on neighbouring counties to lend their support in caring for these individuals.
"This gesture demonstrates the Governor's compassion and empathy towards those in need, and it also underscores the importance of collaboration among counties in addressing shared challenges," Guyo noted.
The Governor also asked neighbouring communities to respect Isiolo's borders.
By doing this, Guyo said issues of banditry and insecurity will be minimal.
“I am not supportive of thieves, regardless of whether you come from Isiolo or not. We cannot steal each other community’s animals. I don’t entertain thieves,” he said.
The county boss noted that his remarks were not to attack any county but reflect a commitment to ensuring the well-being of Isiolo residents and a recognition of the importance of collaboration with neighbouring counties.
"It is my hope that other leaders will follow in my footsteps, putting aside their differences and working together for the betterment of all their constituents," Guyo added.
