Opposition Chief  Raila Odinga has told Kenyans that Monday is the day of truth and Justice.

On his official Twitter account, Raila said that Kenyans had a date with destiny today.

He called on his supporters to maintain peace as they continue with the mega protests.

"It is of utmost importance that we reign in the runaway high cost of living for the benefit of ordinary citizens of our nation," Raila added.

The ODM party leader said that the issue motivates his supporters and keeps them going. 

Raila is expected to address the media anytime from 2.30 pm.

A communication from his team said Raila's address will be held at the Serena hotel in Nairobi.

His daughter Winnie Odinga, and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka are among the leaders who have made their way to the hotel.

The former Prime Minister pulled a no-show on protests he called for.

The protests have been witnessed in Nairobi, Kitale, Homa Bay and Kisumu.

Businesses remained closed with minimal activity in these areas as residents braced for Raila Odinga's protest calls.

A handful of PSV vehicles were seen at the bus termini.

Some locals stayed away while others took to the streets where they burnt tyres on the roadside.
