No retreat, no surrender - Raila declares on demos

Raila said the time was ripe for the protests and they will continue every Monday

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has declared that the Azimio coalition will not relent from protestors.

Speaking from Eastleigh on Monday, Raila said the time was ripe for the protests and they will continue every Monday.

"We will not relent this time," he said.

Raila had told Kenyans that Monday is the day of truth and justice and Kenyans had a date with destiny today.

He called on his supporters to maintain peace as they continue with the mega protests.

"It is of utmost importance that we reign in the runaway high cost of living for the benefit of ordinary citizens of our nation," Raila added.

Raila was speaking in Eastleigh as his convoy snaked its way through the streets.

All through, supporters of Azimio joined the convoy and they praised the Azimio leader. 

The ever-busy Eastleigh came to a standstill as Raila made through the streets followed by his supporters who were both on foot and on bodabodas.

As supporters received him,  Raila made a brief stop to address the crowd where he declared the coming back of Maandamano Monday.
