With only a day to Monday countrywide protests, opposition leader Raila Odinga has maintained that they will peacefully march to the State House to present their petitions to President William Ruto.

Raila however clarified that only a few individuals will walk into the State House if allowed.

"We will hand over our petition to the President wherever he will be, but peacefully… If he will be at State House, only two or three people will walk into State House to go and present the petition," he said while speaking in an interview with Citizen TV aired on Saturday.

The Azimio leader said in case the President would not want to receive it, they will paste the petition at the gate of the State House, or hand it over to the guards.

Those who will be participating in the demonstrations outside Nairobi will march to their county offices, to deliver the petitions.

Raila said holding the mass action is the only option they have to make their demands heard.

"This is the only option to bring home our demands which we are doing not in our interests but on behalf of the people of Kenya," he added.

Asked if he would hold talks with Ruto, the former Prime Minister said this could only happen after Monday.

The protest petitions include lowering the cost of living, reducing the rate of taxation and demand for an all inclusive selection process for new IEBC commissioners.

Azimio rejected the process applied to select the selection panel saying it was one-sided.

Further, Raila and the team want the government to open IEBC servers to confirm election results.
