Itumbi, Jaguar land CAS roles in Ruto's government

Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi has landed a CAS role in President William Ruto's government.

Ruto nominated Itumbi for the role in the Ministry of Information and Communication and Digital Economy.

Former Starehe MP Charles Njagua, popularly known as Jaguar, has also been nominated as the Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Arts and Sports.

The two close Ruto allies were nominated alongside 48 others whose names were submitted to Parliament for vetting on Thursday.

"It is notified that His Excellency Hon William Samoei Ruto, following the recommendation of the Public Service Commission has today 16th March 2023 nominated various persons as Chief Administrative Secretaries," Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei said in a communication to Parliament. 

“By dint of the executive action, the nominations have been transmitted to the national Assembly for consideration and approval by Parliament in accordance with the Public Appointments Act,” Koskei added.

The nominations are in line with Article 132(4)(a) of the Constitution.

Itumbi was shortlisted for the CAS position and was interviewed on March 1.

The Public Service Commission had submitted a list of 240 candidates to the President after the conclusion of interviews.
