President William Ruto has picked former Citam Church Presiding Bishop, David Oginde to be the new Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) chairperson.

In a statement on Saturday, the president said he had also forwarded his name to the National Assembly for consideration.

"His Excellency Hon. William Samoei Ruto has on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, nominated Bishop (Dr.) David Adang Oginde for appointment as the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission," the statement by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei said.
Bishop Oginde was one of the three individuals who had been shortlisted by the Publics Service Commission to succeed Archbishop (Emeritus) Dr. Eliud Wabukala.

The other two were former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and Amani Komara.

Wabukala had served a full 6-year term at the helm of the EACC.

Ruto said Bishop Oginde is highly respected at home and abroad for his strong reputation in forthrightness, integrity, and his tireless efforts towards the promotion of ethics and virtue in society.

"If the nomination is approved by Parliament, his appointment as the Chairperson of EACC will give Kenya a demonstrable champion of deepening a value-based culture in our nation; and one who has a long and successful career of promoting ethics, integrity and civic duty in many different spheres of life."

Bishop Oginde is the immediate former Presiding Bishop of Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM), and is also the immediate former Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University.

He holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership, USA and a Master's Degree in Leadership from Pan Africa Christian University.
