Police are looking for a gang that attacked a family and raped a mother and her daughter in Keroka, Kisii County.
This happened as the father of the girl was tied and locked in their bedroom and could not help them.
The man said they were sleeping when he heard unusual movements from his sitting room on Wednesday night.
When he went to check what was happening, he was confronted by four men.
He told police two of them had rifles and at gunpoint, ordered him to surrender.
He lay on the floor before they tied him with a piece of cloth and later led him into his bedroom where his wife was also tied.
According to police, the couple was later robbed of Sh20,800 and two mobile phones that they had.
It was then that the gang turned on the wife and their 17-year-old girl and rapped them.
The victims were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
Police were called to the scene and processed it before announcing the hunt on the gang is ongoing.
Police suspect the gang may have had the motive to attack the family.
Cases of armed robberies have been on the rise in the town amid calls on authorities to take measures to contain them.
