Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando has urged President William Ruto to reserve the Chief Administrative Secretary position for the hustlers (youth).

According to Kabando, this will help the hustlers nurture their leadership skills.

He went on to say that if the positions are given to former governors, they will end up working under people who should be their children.

Kabando said Ruto should consider appointing them ambassadors instead of CASs.

"Rais Ruto, if you've got to give these millionaire veteran pensioners jobs, appoint them Ambassadors. Don't make them PAs to their offsprings- Ababus & Soipans. Reserve CAS to young, energetic young (hustlers) graduate professionals deserving of leadership incubation, and nurturing," Kabando said.

Kabando's remarks come after the Public Service Commission shortlisted at least eight former governors for Chief Administrative Secretary jobs in a list of 240 individuals.

They include; former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero, John Mruttu, the former governor of Taita Taveta,

Other governors are Samuel Tuani who served in Narok, James Ongwae of Kisii, Samuel Ragwa of Tharaka Nithi and Patrick Khaemba of Trans Nzoia county.

Hussein Dado of Tana River and Moses Lenolkulal of Samburu also are in the list.

In the list, former MPs also prominently feature as well as close allies of president William Ruto.

If successful, Ruto will appoint them to the positions.
