They include Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Shakeel Shabir (Kisumu East, Independent) Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o (Lang’ata), Paul Abuor (Rongo), John Owino (Awendo) and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua also attended the morning meeting.

Speaking after the meeting, President Ruto emphasised on the need for leaders to work together despite political affiliation.

"Leaders must join hands, foster coexistence and work together in confronting the challenges facing our country," he said.

Ruto added that leaders must endeavour to lead by example and serve the interest of the people, adding that the meeting was a sure route to a more united and developed Kenya.

Langata Mp Jalango said that he followed up on various projects with the head of state an his deputy.

"Today we had breakfast with the president, I followed up on the Start date of the construction of affordable housing in the Highrise ward and the completion of the Langata TVET. The project is on and the contractor is on the ground, an extra 50 million has been located for the completion,” he said.

The meeting comes two days after the opposition chief who is also the ODM leader held his third anti-Ruto rally in Nairobi.

During the first rally in Kamukunji rally last month, Raila said he will not recognise President Ruto's 'illegitimate' Presidency and his government, maintaining that the 2022 presidential poll was marred with irregularities.

However, Ruto has insisted he will not be blackmailed and such threats of rallies won't work.

He added that nothing will stop him from fixing the country.
