Namanga man on the run after killing brother in fight over land

Police said they are looking for a known suspect in the murder

A man is on the run after he killed his brother in a quarrel over a piece of land in Namanga, Kajiado County.

Police said the incident happened in Leboo village where two brothers had quarreled while both of them armed with ordinary pangas.

They attacked each other before one succumbed to the injuries on Wednesday.

Police established that the body of the deceased, Koinary Koroyian, 65 years old, was found lying dead about five meters from his house with serious panga cut injuries.

The suspect namely had escaped and he is still at large.

The two brothers had a long dispute over a parcel of land and cattle grazing area, police said.

Plans are underway to involve local elders in solving the matter and avoid retaliation, police said, adding the assailant will face the law.

The body was moved to the local mortuary pending autopsy.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the murder of a man whose body was found dumped on the roadside in EPZ area, Kitengela on Wednesday.

Some body parts were missing at the time of the incident and police suspect they were eaten by wild animals in the area.

The missing body parts included both hands from the elbow and legs from the thighs.

The head had visible sharp cuts while his trouser and a shoe were found about 100 meters away from the body.

It is not clear what happened leading to the death but police said they are investigating the incident.

The remains were taken to a local mortuary.
