A man accused of using a Panga to slap a minor, whom he accused of stealing motorcycle lights has been charged in court.

Jackson Ochieng was charged with beating up D O on December 30, at Raila slums in Lang’ata subcounty within Nairobi county.

He pleaded guilty to the charges at the Kibera law courts on Wednesday but begged for mercy saying he committed the act out of anger.

The court heard that the accused person picked up a minor from their home on his motorcycle to a certain location where he administered the beatings.

“He took the minor from his mother’s workplace and later drove him towards the By-pass before beating him up and abandoning him there,” the court was told.

The minor was rescued by a well-wisher who found him crying and took him to their home and later taken to the hospital.

The matter was later reported to Langata police station vide Ob number 47/30/12/2022 and the accused person was arrested and later charged in court.

The magistrate directed that the accused person pays a fine of Sh20,000 or serve six months in jail.
