A home-use DNA test collection kit has become the centre of social media discussion with Kenyans weighing the possibility of determining the paternity of their children while at home.
But even as a section of Kenyans have now concluded that the kit is capable of giving paternity tests, leading pathologist Dr Ahmed Kalebi on Tuesday denied the claims.
He said the kit said to be available in pharmacies and supermarket shelves at the purported price of between Sh700 to Sh800 is just a sample collection (swab) kit.
The medic dismissed claims that it will cost only Sh800 to conduct a DNA test.
