Former Azimio la Umoja presidential chief agent Saitabao Kanchory now says that Raila Odinga is an idea that will live long after many are gone.

According to Kanchory, the former Prime minister represents himself as a man and also as an idea.

He said that this is why his appeal to the people who support him will never diminish.

The lawyer insisted that Raila the man has his faults but Raila the idea is never wrong and will never grow old.

"Raila Odinga is both a man and an idea. This is why the allure of Raila Odinga will never die. The man may have his faults but ideas are never wrong. Similarly, ideas never grow old or frail. Raila Odinga, the idea, will live on long after all of us are gone," Kanchory said in a tweet on Wednesday.

His remarks come against the backdrop of claims by the ODM leader's critics that his time to quit active politics is up.

They insist that it is time he hands over the opposition leadership mantle to someone who is younger and more vibrant.

Despite age catching up fast, the question of Raila quitting active politics has always received a negative response.

In early October, the Star reported that the former PM was already making moves and preparing for a sixth stab at the presidency.

Raila has hinted at his 2027 political plans, saying he will actively remain central in pushing for a better Kenya.

He spoke at the National Museums of Kenya in Nairobi during the launch of Stronger Than Faith, the autobiography of ODM executive director Oduor Ong’wen.

“We have a job to do, one of them is not to surrender. Surrender is not in our vocabulary. As a people we must consolidate again and expand,” Raila said.
