The Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) has organized a four-day public speaking and communication convention in Mombasa.
The four-day seminar is to equip HR executives with key communication skills to enable them to deliver on their mandate effectively.
Speaking during the launch of the convention on Tuesday, IHRM Chair Dalmas Odero Philips said the convention will better members' understanding of their roles as far as communication is concerned.
"A combination of great skills and competency in HR coupled with executive public speaking and communication skills is a sure way of becoming an effective HR leader transforming their organizations and the profession," he said.
He added:
"It is my hope that HR professionals will receive insights aimed at transforming us into world-class speakers who will cause transformation not just through what we know but also through how we communicate what we know."
The four-day convention will end Friday.
