Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has said that Winnie Odinga and Charlene Ruto are the future of Kenyan politics.

Winnie is the daughter to Azimio leader Raila Odinga while Charlene is President William Ruto's daughter.

Ngunyi said that Kenyans should support them to achieve gender balance.

"Dear people of Parliament support Winnie Odinga she is the future of our politics with Charlene Ruto. Girl power must rule. In Europe, women Prime Ministers are breastfeeding on the floor of Parliament," he said.

His sentiments comes at after Winnie was nominated by ODM for the East African Legislative Assembly.

Winnie has received backlash and support in equal measures following her nomination.

She affirmed her capabilities saying that if elected to EALA, she will build a coalition of the willing.

Winnie said the coalition will focus on the people and not emphasize much on politics.

Charlene has recently held meetings with local and international leaders.

She revealed on her Twitter handle that she met Morocco's Youth minister, Mohammed Mehdi, for a "conversation and exchange of ideas that will go a long way in shaping youth development projects for both nations."

This, however, does not clearly indicate her exact position in government.
