Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has sarcastically thrown his weight behind Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka for nominating their children to the East African Legislative Assembly.

Ahmednasir said the two leaders have sacrificed a lot for Kenyans, and it was wise for them to front their children.

The fierce Raila çritic sarcastically said their children have no jobs and should be allowed to have something to do.

“I support 100 per cent Raila and Kalonzo's wise decision to nominate their children to EALA. Raila and Kalonzo have sacrificed so much for Wanjiku...please let the kids (they are in their 30s and are unemployed) earn some salary!” Ahmednasir said.

His sentiments come amid uproar from a section of Kenyans over the nominations.

They said there are more capable Kenyans who can serve in the same capacities and that the seats are not reserved for certain families.

The Wiper party submitted the name of Kennedy Musyoka who if approved will be returning to EALA for a second term.

ODM has two slots in EALA and among the six people fronted for consideration is Raila's lastborn daughter Winnie Odinga.

Others nominated for ODM include businessman Suleiman Shahbal, Mohamed Diriye, Timothy Bosire, Beatrice Askul, and Justus Kizito.

The six represent Mombasa, Wajir, Nairobi, Nyamira, Turkana and Kakamega counties. 

National Assembly clerk Samuel Njoroge and his Senate counterpart J.M Nyegenye have gazetted November 17 as the day MPs will elect representatives to EALA.

The two, who will be the presiding officers said the elections shall be held at 10 am in the National Assembly Chamber and at 9:30 am in the Senate, respectively.
