Ruto holds second cabinet meeting at State House

President William Ruto on Tuesday afternoon chaired his second cabinet meeting with his new cabinet secretaries.

State House Press Secretary Emmanuel Talam confirmed that the meeting started in the afternoon with all members of the cabinet present.

The meeting comes a few hours after the Employment and labour relations court stopped the ongoing vetting of Principal Secretaries pending the hearing and determination of a case filed.

It also comes ata time when the capital has recorded an increase in criminal cases, especially in the Central Business District.

Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome on Monday gave Kenyans with illegal firearms one month to surrender the weapons to the nearest police stations. 

The government is also battling to address the banditry activities in various parts of the country.

Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure on Monday said the ministry is privy to where the bandits have been retreating to and are out to dismantle the criminals.

Kindiki said they will not stop at that but will go further to dismantle the entire chain from financiers to those that buy the stolen livestock
