Ruto picks Tum, Mburu for health PS jobs

If approved the two will take over from Susan Mochache, who is the current PS.

President William Ruto has nominated Peter Tum to the state department for medical services in the Ministry of Health.

Tum served as PS in the Ministry of Health before being appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta to his current position as the PS State Department for Labour in the ministry of Labour and Social Protection on March 1, 2019.

Tum previously served as the Kenya Medical Training College CEO and holds a Post- Graduate Diploma in Medical Electronics from the University of London.

Also nominated is Dr Josephinne Mburu who if approved will be in charge of the state department of health standards and professional management.

The two will take over from Susan Mochache, who is the current PS.

Mburu is among more than 10 women for Principal Secretaries to serve in different state departments.

They include Teresia Mbaika Malokwe for State Department for Devolution, Esther Ngero State Department for Performance and Delivery Management and Aurelia Rono for State Department for Parliamentary Affairs.

Others are Caroline Nyawira Murage for State Department for Correctional Services, Beatrice Inyangala for Higher Education and Research, Roseline Njogu for Diaspora Affairs and  Veronica Nduva for Gender and Affirmative Action 

Ether Thaara Muhoria for State Department for TVET and Susan Mangeni State Department for MSMEs are also on the list.
