President William Ruto's key UDA stalwarts allies have landed jobs at the powerful Parliamentary Service Commission.

The move, however, means that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance partner parties have been locked out of the influential posts that come with immense resources and power.

In the list submitted to Parliament, Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance picked National Assembly members Faith Gitau(Nyandarua) and Mohamed Ali(Nyali).

Senators Joyce Korir(nominated) and Nyandarua's John Kinyua will represent Kenya Kwanza from the Senate.

Key parties in the Kenya Kwanza including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula's Ford Kenya as well as Amani National Congress of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi lost out.

The PSC is the statutory body that employs MPs and parliamentary staff with mouthwatering benefits for commissioners including offices and state-chauffeured vehicles.

It is understood that ANC and Ford Kenya could have been sidelined alongside Senate Speaker Amason Kingi's PAA party because their leaders already occupy powerful offices.

From the minority Azimio coalition, opposition chief Raila Odinga bypassed his brother Oburu Odinga who was salivating for the PSC job and picked Nyamira Senator Okong'o Omogeni(ODM).

Oburu had defended his bid for the post rubbishing objections that he does not deserve the position because he is Raila's brother.

β€œI want to clearly state that I had communicated my interest to be a member of the Public Service Commission (PSC) early and before any other person had made their interest known," Oburu said on October 15.

He continued, β€œIt was my decision as a duly elected member senate representing Siaya county as an equal member of the senate just like other senators.”

Also picked is jailed Sirisia MP John Waluke (Jubilee) and Mavoko MP Patrick Makau(Wiper) in a power-sharing arrangement that saw big Azimio parties land a slot each.

They will now sit in the 11-members PSC that is chaired by Wetangula with Senate clerk Jeremiah Nyegenye as the secretary to the commission.

Parliament is expected to nominated two more members who are not parliamentarians but experienced in public service to represent public interest.

The constitution provides that seven members shall be appointed by parliament from among its members with four from each House picked by the ruling party.

Two of the nominees must be women.
