Interior Cabinet Secretary nominee Kithure Kindiki has vowed he will do everything possible to deal with banditry and terrorists.

"I assure Kenyans that I will make whatever sacrifices that need to be made, I will stay focused until the banditry problem is over. Even if it means going to live in the North Rift," Kindiki added.

Appearing before the National Assembly Appointment's committee on Tuesday, Kindiki stated that his number one assignment will be to ensure that Kenya is set free from criminals, bandits, cattle rustlers and terrorists.

"We will speak less because security does not require speaking," he added.

If he is approved by the house, Kindiki pledged to deal with criminals without fear or favour noting that his office will respect human rights.

He also vowed not to spare any politician who will be involved in crime.

"We will respect human rights but criminals have to be faced like criminals period! Crimes have no ethnicity and are not political, Kindiki said.

"A politician who has committed a crime is a criminal, a lawyer who is  committing a crime is a criminal and so is a doctor," he added.
