Lawyer Miguna Miguna now says that COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli should serve jail term for neglecting his duties.

In a statement on Sunday, Miguna  accused Atwoli of failing on his mandate that required him to advocate for workers rights within and out of the country.

His comments comes after Atwoli held a press conference demanding all recruitment agencies brokering employment opportunities for Kenyan workers abroad to be shut.

This is after he received a video recording of a Kenyan woman breastfeeding a dog.

"Where has Francis Atwoli been for the past 10 years when Kenyan women have been trafficked, turned into slaves, degraded, tortured, maimed and killed in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Lebanon and other Middle Eastern countries?" he asked.

"Atwoli deserves 500 years in Kamiti."

Atwoli on Sunday urged President William Ruto to ban all employment agencies saying they have failed Kenyans.

"I want to appeal to our government to go the way the first government of President Mwai Kibaki under Phyllis Kandie as the Minister of Labor did. She banned all employment agencies in Kenya," he said.

On the woman who was filmed breastfeeding a dog, Atwoli said she left Kenya two months after giving birth.

"When they realised that she can breastfeed, the employer instead of giving her a proper job, he gave this girl the job of breastfeeding his puppies," Atwoli said.

He further said the treatment that workers get in the Middle East denies them the dignity and respect that should be accorded to them as humans and Kenyans.

"It denies us our own citizenship as Kenyans who are from a free, independent and democratic country. A country that an create employment for its people," he said.
