PSC announces dates for PSs interviews, invites public's views

Names of shortlisted applicants will be published in the print media on Friday.

Public Service Commission has announced that the interviews for Principal Secretaries' positions will be held from October 12 to October 22.

In a statement on Thursday, PSC through its head of corporate communications Browne Kutswa said the interviews follow the conclusion of applicants shortlisting exercise.

"The Commission shortlisted 477 applicants out of 9,154 that applied for the positions whose application deadline had been extended from September 20 to 27, 2022," the statement said.

The interviews will be held at the PSC head office in Nairobi.

The list of the successful candidates will be forwarded to President William Ruto after the interviews for consideration for appointment.

PSC has invited the public to send their views on the suitability of the shortlisted candidates before the interviews begin.

The views are to be sent to the head state departments in the public service through the email; [email protected].

This is meant to promote public participation in the recruitment process.

The Commission said the full list of applicants, shortlist and interview schedules will be posted on its Website.

"The names of shortlisted applicants will be published in the print media on Friday October 7, 2022," it added.

The Kenya Kwanza administration will have 49 Principal Secretaries who will each head a state department in the 22 ministries.

Six ministries - Mining, Trade, Education, Lands, Roads and Interior - will each have three Principal Secretaries.

The Ministry of Defence will have only one PS.

There will be another state department, which a circular from State House did not name or indicate where it will be placed.

The other 14 ministries will each have two state departments.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary will have one state department -(Government Coordination) - and thus only one PS.
