The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is currently under the National Police Service.
The office was previously referred to as Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
DCI is a branch of NPS Charged with the mandate of prevention, detection, investigation, and prosecution of serious crime in Kenya.
Hamisi Massa currently occupies the office in acting capacity following the resignation of George Kinoti.
