Outgoing Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has questioned President Wiliam Ruto on the fate of devolution ministry.

The ministry was working independently since 2013 but when Ruto unveiled his Cabinet, he did not include the name of a Cabinet secretary attached to the office.

The move left Wamalwa questioning whether the docket was still in existence.

"Am at a loss as to what happens to Devolution, is it an oversight or it is not a priority to this Administration?" he asked.

The Ministry of Devolution is responsible for supporting County Governments through policy formulation, capacity support and intergovernmental relations.

Wamalwa at the same time congratulated Aden Duale on his nomination as CS for Defence.

He also congratulated Simon Chelugui and Aisha Jumwa who were nominated on ministries of Cooperatives and MSMEs and Public Service and Gender.

He added he is ready to hand over to Duale.

"May l congratulate my colleagues Chelugui and Monica Juma on their nomination,as well as my friend Aden Duale to whom l will be handing over as CS Defence," he tweeted.

Ruto on Tuesday unveiled his Cabinet members.

The unveiling of the cabinet came shortly after he held his inaugural cabinet meeting with former cabinet secretaries who served under former  President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Addressing the nation from State House Nairobi, the President unpacked to Kenyans the men and women who he entrusted with the responsibility of delivering his manifesto to Kenyans.
