The Supreme Court will issue its complete judgment on the presidential petition on Monday.

Supreme Court registrar Letizia Wachira said in a brief released on Saturday that the ruling will be delivered by email at 2.30pm.

"Take note that the reasons for the judgment of the court, that was delivered in this petition on the 5th day of September, will be delivered on Monday the 26th September, 2022 through email."

During the delivery of the verdict read by Chief Justice Martha Koome, the seven-judge bench said it would deliver its reasoned judgment 21 days later.

In the verdict, the court dismissed the consolidated petition filed by Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and six other petitioners saying it lacked sufficient evidence.

Raila was seeking to overturn the election of President William Ruto who garnered 7.1 million votes to emerge winner of the August 9 contest.

The ODM leader, who got 6.9 million votes, rejected the results saying they were rigged.

He said he respects the court's decision but disagrees with it.

On September 15, Raila said he and many other Kenyans are waiting with bated breath to know what detailed reasoning the Supreme Court will give.

"We want to wait and see what these details are going to be about," Raila said.

The ODM leader was critical of the language the court used to describe his petition.

"It is our constitutional right to say hii ruling ilikuwa shenzi," he said.
