A meeting between parliamentary representatives and the Salaries and the remuneration commission convened to deliberate allowances is yet to bore fruits.
Earlier, lawmakers had indicated they have reached an agreement with the SRC to reverse the abolition of plenary sitting allowances.
MPs at the closed-door meeting further intimated that they would have their mileage allowances reviewed.
"They have made a commitment to reinstate all the allowances in a phased plan," an MP who sought anonymity said.
"We have agreed on what must be restored within one week," the MP added.
The Star has however learnt that the two parties are yet to reach a deal.
The salaries commission abolished the plenary sitting allowance saying it amounts to double compensation.
If granted, including that of MCAs, the perks for lawmakers would jump by Sh10 billion for the term.
The SRC was to address a presser after the meeting.
