President-Elect William Ruto's mother Sarah Cheruiyot has arrived at Kasarani stadium ahead of his inauguration.

She was accompanied by other family members.

"We thank God and we are happy. He has protected us and I'm happy for Ruto for this far he has come," she said.

Sarah was also present at Bomas of Kenya when presidential results were being announced.

Kenyans will be eagerly waiting to see if Ruto will live up to his promises, especially those he pledged to deliver in his first 100 days in office.

Key among his promises was to lower the cost of living. To achieve the goal, Ruto said his focus immediately after taking over from President Uhuru Kenyatta would be to boost the agriculture sector.

“I will work with the county government administration over the next one to two months to reduce the cost of seedlings and fertiliser as part of an elaborate plan to reduce the rising cost of living in the country,” Ruto said during a church service in Nakuru on September 4.
