Lawyer Miguna Miguna has asked Azimio executive director Raphael Tuju to present a sworn affidavit at the Supreme Court of Kenya on allegations he made on Sunday in a press conference.

Miguna said the it was wrong for Tuju to respond to court matters through a press conference yet he could do so in the court.

"The IEBC chairman and Returning Officer of the 2022 Presidential Election filed his Response to Raila Odinga's Petition at the Supreme Court of Kenya. He did not call a press conference," he said on  Sunday.

He added, "Raphael Tuju should deliver a sworn affidavit in response to Chebukati and avoid PR."

On Sunday, Tuju held a press conference at Upper Hill to talk about the affidavit filed by IEBC in response to Azimio's presidential election petition.

In his address, Tuju said his lawyers are currently working on his affidavit.

"I would have wanted to share my affidavit with you, but right now, my lawyers are working on it and they were not ready to give it to you," he said.

Tuju said he met with IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati who was with Commissioner Abdi Guliye and CEO Hussein Marjan at Bomas of Kenya on August 15 at 4am.

He said he was in the company of Amos Wako and advocate Kyalo Mbob.

Tuju added that he was presenting a matter concerning form 34A to the chairman since Guliye could not handle it.

"The issue had brought up with him (Guliye) was that I had received intelligence from one of the IEBC officials, who complained that some form 34As were being brought down and they were being replaced by other form 34As," he said.

Tuju said he tried several times before he got to meet Chebukati, which is why the meeting happened at the wee hours of the morning.
