Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has declared Monday a public holiday in eight areas.
They include; Mombasa and Kakamega counties.
Other areas handed the holiday are; Kitui Rural, Kacheliba, Pokot and Rongai constituencies.
Kwa Njenga Ward(Embakasi) and Nyaki West Ward (Imenti) will also have the holiday.

The Mombasa and Kakamega governor elections were first postponed on August 9 after the commission discovered some errors on the ballot papers.
The elections were then scheduled for August 23, but were again put off.
During a meeting with the candidates in Nairobi, IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati confirmed Monday, August 29, as the new date for the pending elections.
In Mombasa, ODM has fronted outgoing Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir to face off with UDA’s Hassan Omar – who served as the first Senator of Mombasa until 2017.
In Kakamega, ex-Ketraco boss Fernandes Barasa would represent the party in Kakamega while UDA has fronted outgoing Senator Cleophas Malala.
