Uasin Gishu Woman representative Gladys Boss Shollei has downplayed   Siaya governor James Orengo's legal acumen even as they are poised for a showdown at the Supreme Court of Kenya.

In a video seen by the Star, Shollei, a lawyer, said Orengo might be a Senior Counsel, but she is more senior.

"I'm senior to you because, how come you don't know that the Supreme Court is not a chiefs baraza. The Supreme court sio baraza ya kupelekea porojo, its a place where you go and discuss the validity of the election," she said.

Shollei will be on President-elect William Ruto's side when arguing about the presidential petition at the Supreme court while Orengo is on Azimio's side defending Raila Odinga.

The case was filed by Raila and his running mate Martha Karua after they lost the 2022 August presidential election after they came second.

Raila claimed that the declaration of Ruto as the president-elect was null and void.

"Let no one take the law into their own hands. We are pursuing constitutional and lawful channels to invalidate Chebukati's illegal and unconstitutional pronouncement. We are certain that justice will prevail," he said.
