Chaos erupted at Runyenjes tallying centre in Embu after a man who posed as Raila Odinga's agent was allegedly nabbed with forms 34B and 37B in his car outside the hall.

This came after the agents of gubernatorial candidates had caused a commotion in the hall after it was discovered the forms were missing.

The unidentified man said he had been sent by the former PS Cyrus Njiru and the Azimio la Umoja chairman in Embu County to be the Azimio la Umoja presidential agent.

But the agent of Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate who had been there all through said he didn't know the man.

The 'imposter' was forced to explain to the people who had convened at the hall where he got the forms and said he got them from the Returning Officer Pamela Karimi.

The man was later arrested by the police who were manning the centre.

After the arrest agents of Embu governor candidate, Lenny Kivuti stormed out of the tallying centre in protest even before signing the forms.

Deputy Returning Officer George Miriti told the agents that the forms would be submitted with or without them.

Agents of governor Cecily Mbarire, however, signed the forms and proceeded to Kangaru for the final tallying.

UDA's Mbarire and Development Empowerment Party (Mbus) Kivuti are in a close battle for Embu governor.

The two other contestants for the seat are Jubilee's Emilio Kathuri and DP's Njagi Kumantha.

The last opinion polls indicate leanings toward Kivuti and Mbariri.

Embu has 334,302 registered voters, according to the gazetted voter register.

Manyatta has 106,588 voters, followed by Runyenjes with 95,326, Mbeere South with 77,264 and Mbeere North with 55,124.
