GSU police officers ask unauthorised people to vacate Matuga KSG tallying center area in Kwale on Thursday, August 11, 2022.

Chaos and confusion rocked Matuga after three Kwale governor candidates stormed the tallying centre room.

The three; Hamadi Boga (ODM), Chirau Ali Mwakwere (Wiper) and Lung'anzi Chai Mangale (Wiper) demanded that tallying activities be stopped.

Led by Mwakwere, the candidates alleged that the entire electoral exercise was marred by electoral malpractices.

He said they have strong evidence of secret plots to rig the votes.

"We have valid information of ballot boxes being transported to the tallying stations without seals," he said.

Mwakwere said the exercise was not conducted in a free and fair manner hence the tallying must be discontinued until their grievances are resolved.
