Chama Cha Uzalendo secretary general Phillipe Sadja says the lives of his relatives are in danger.

Sadja made the claims hours after his motor vehicle was torched in Machakos town on Thursday night.

"I condemn this act of cruelty and desperation that put my family in danger and untold trauma," Sadja said on Friday.

Sadja dismissed claims that his vehicle's torching incident was stage-managed.

"Some rumour mongers are projecting a false story that this was stage-managed. Who in their right senses would put their own family in danger for political mileage," Sadja said.

"This is an outright act of dirty and immature politics that is uncalled for and unwarranted in today's time and age," Sadja said.

He trashed the advert published in a local daily today indicating that he had been suspended as the party's secretary general.

"Also note that the advert placed in today's Daily Nation purporting to suspend me as the secretary general of Chama Cha Uzalendo is false and malicious to inform and misguide my supporters and party members at this critical period," he said.

Sadja's vehicle was torched at his home in Miwani Estate on Thursday night.

Machakos sub-county police commander Moss Ndiwa said they had launched investigations into the incident.

The matter has since been taken over by the Machakos DCI and is under active investigation.
