Roots presidential running mate Justina Wamae now says her boss George Wajackoyah is supporting Azimio's Raila Odinga, hours after he denied it.
"It's true the allegations that my principal and party leader is supporting Azimio. But we have not discussed that as a Party, we have not agreed and neither have I been consulted," she said.
Wamae, however, said in the event the need arises for them to endorse any of their opponents, she will support UDA's William Ruto.
She said as of Wednesday, party leaders were still selling their manifesto.
Wamae spoke to Citizen TV on Wednesday, hours after Wajackoyah denied claims that he had thrown his weight behind Raila.
"The notion that Prof Wajackoya has endorsed Raila Odinga is a hopeless imagination," he said
Wamae pointed out that the viral video showing Wajckoyah appearing to endorse Raila was the second time Wajackoyah created the perception that the party is a project.
"If it comes to push and shove, then I will support the contrary (Ruto). That is my stand as Justina. But the party has not agreed, neither has it discussed this direction."
On August 9, Kenyans will choose the fifth president between Raila, Ruto, Wajackoyah and David Mwaure of the Agano party.
